23rd April - Presidents day took place on Saturday in glorious sunshine. John Platt, Club president opened the green following a short speech to welcome everyone. Fran Hammell won the spider and Kevin Edwards achieved the highest total for the days fun competition.
Tea and sandwiches were prepared by the Ladies, an enjoyable day.
15th May - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecil
Roser. Cecil was a frequent visitor to Borstal, he will be greatly missed.
16th May - Borstal will be hosting an Open Day to attract new members to
the club on the 18th June from 2:00 until 7: 30pm. Also on offer are four free
bowling sessions of 2 hours duration on the 23rd and 30th June and 7th and 14th
July. Please spread the word and press gang as many neighbours and girlfriends
as possible. Free tea and cake will be served during the day.

22nd May – Borstal Ladies won through to the next round of the Top Team after beating GEC 3 and 1 – Well done Ladies, best of luck in the next round.

17th June - Borstal Ladies unfortunately lost their Top Team game against Milton. The weather was absolutely abysmal, a tribute to the ladies for finishing the game. Congratulations and
very best of luck to Milton in the next round.
14th July - We had a terrific response to our Open Day (18th June) with over twenty participants taking part. A big thanks to all Borstal bowlers who turned up to help.
The following four weeks of free bowling went extremly well . We hope to have some new bowlers joining soon. Refere to pictures taken in photograph section on front menu
16th July - John Beet Charity Day . The John Beet day was as usally, well supported . The weather was not so good as 14 teams battled through wind and rain. Two of the three bowling periods were completed before an end was called. The winning team at end of play was Townsend Hook, with GEC coming second. Picture of both teams are shown in photographs 2 section.
A big thank you to all bowlers and helpers who supported the John Beet, all procedes (£1000) will be donated to The Air Ambulance Charity. Picture of cheque donation to Air Ambulance representative Rachael Griffiths is shown in photographs 2 section.
6th August - Borstal Open day. A very enjoyable day, the weather was kind and some excellent bowling. Twenty teams battled all day, with Lenham 'B' winning the first prize of £200, and Chatham 'B' taking the second prize of £100. Third and fourth prizes were won by Chatham 'A' and Lenham 'A' respectively.
A big thank you to all participating teams and all the hard working helpers who ensured the day was such a success. Pictures of the winning teams may be found in the photographs 2 section.

The finals weekend was enjoyed by many finalists. Some exceptional bowling was apparent, with a thrilling singles final played out by Jim Simpson and Tony Flood, with Tony just pipping Jim 21-20.
A big thank you to all participants , Ladies who organised the food and the competition secretary Mick Fisher.
Presenation evening will be 15th October - This event is always enjoyable, a meal is presented before the presenations with background music. Tickets will be available soon, so watch this space.
Medway Finals -Mens Pairs: Jim and George just lost on an extra end. The game was exicting right to the end.
Eileen lost in the Ladies final as did Dave in the Men's .
The good news - Eileen and Veronica won the Ladies pairs.

Borstal AGM - Monday Night 21st November 8 - 8:30 pm - Please come along and participate in the meeting and cast your vote in selecting the men's and ladies committee's. It's your chance to have your say on any issues that are raised.
14th January 2012. - Borstal Quiz Night - Twenty teams attended an excellent quiz night at Warren Wood Social Club. Robert and Stephen Flood provided the quiz and presented the six rounds in style and with great professionalism. The evening was a great success and rasied money for changing room improvements.
A big thanks to all helpers, the Flood family , Warren Wood Social Club, the quiz contestants and all those who provided raffle prizes.
